The Dawoodi Bohra community of New England and Albany, New York worship at the Anjuman-E-Ezzi masjid (or mosque) in Boston, Massachusetts. Our masjid was officially inaugurated in 2001 by the 52nd leader of the Dawoodi Bohras, the late Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (R.A), who laid the foundation stone at the site in Billerica, MA.
While we might originally come from India or Pakistan or Uganda or Sri Lanka, every single Bohra in the United States regards him or herself as American first and foremost. We are proud of the contribution we make to American society. And we are loyal and law-abiding citizens of this wonderful country.
The Dawoodi Bohra communities of America make a significant contribution to all of the cities in which we live. In return, the United States has welcomed us with open arms and regards us as neighbors and friends.
BOHRA FAITH
With one million followers, the Dawoodi Bohras are a branch of Islam that has been in existence for many centuries.
Bohras adhere to the teachings of the Prophet MohammedSAW and follow the Shi’a Fatemi school of jurisprudence of Islam, which is one of the three main Shi’a interpretations of Islam. Fatemi Imams are descendants of the Prophet MohammedSAW. We believe in the Oneness of God, the Prophet Mohammed al-Mustafa as the final messenger of Allah, and the holy Qur’an as the final message to mankind.
