We have been serving the community of Nuneaton & Bedworth and the wider area since 1959 in providing a centre for worship, education, contemplation and enlightenment. We seek to enable Muslims of all ages to carry out their faith in tranquillity and peacefulness. We are here to enable Muslims to understand their faith better and study the numerous requirements.
The Mosque is a place of peace and harmony where we invite all of the communities to join us in celebrating the diversity and richness of our society.
The Management of Nuneaton Muslim Society seeks to reach out and promote greater dialogue and understanding amongst all of the faiths and cultures of our considerable and diverse communities. We carry out this noble intention through working with other faith organisations, the local authorities, statutory agencies and public sector bodies.
We arrange regular visits to the Mosque along with meetings and events that seek to promote the dialogue of understanding and harmony.
Construction of the Mosque:
Nuneaton Muslim Society has been based at the current site since 1984. A number of respected individuals have been paramount to laying the foundations of the success the Society has been achieving in recent years from a social and religious perspective. Sadly, many of these elders have left us but the fruits of their labour are ever growing and as tasteful! May Allah (swt) bring peace and light to the graves of our beloved elders, may he grant them the highest of abodes in Jannah, may he give strength and patience to their families, may he unite us all to carry on with the great work and may he reunite us all in Jannah – Ameen.
The Muslims of Nuneaton donated their hard earned money generously to the construction of the Mosque which took several years to build, spanning from the 1970's till 1984.
The Opening ceremony of the Mosque was conducted on Friday 20th April 1984 by Ameer-ul-Hind Hazrat Maulana Syed As’ad ibn Syed Husain Ahmad Madani rahimahullah and Shaykh-ul-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Yusuf ibn Suleman ibn Qasim Motala (DB) as well as other prominent Ulama from the UK and abroad. The laying of the foundation stone and conducting a prayer for its success took place in 1979 whilst the world renowned Shaykh-ul-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Muḥammad Zakariya ibn Muḥammad Yaḥya ibn Muḥammad Ismail Ṣiddiqi Kāndhalawi Saharanpuri Muhajir-i Madani rahimahullah was visiting the UK. Unfortunately, due to ill health the Shaykh was unable to attend Nuneaton so he blessed five bricks that were then laid in each corner of the Mosque and the fifth one in the Mehrab (alcove in the front wall) of the prayer hall. This great act was led by Hazratji Maulana In`am al-Hasan Kandhalvi rahimahullah. The construction was fully completed in April 1984.
